Undergraduate Research Opportunities

I'm happy to conduct research with interested undergraduates. I offer opportunities to gain research experience by assisting on a project as a volunteer research assistant or Psyc 395 Independent Research student. I also sometimes supervise undergraduate Honors Theses and summer research.

I prefer to work with students whose interests are congruent with my own. To learn more about what I do, read about my research and visit the Positive Emotions and Psychophysiology Lab website.

I also encourage you to look around at other labs to find your best fit! Visit the Office of Undergraduate Research for information about other research opportunities. In addition, please visit my Guide to Getting Research Assistantships, which has suggestions for finding a good position, contacting the person in charge and interviewing well. An RAship is not like a regular college class-- it offers unique opportunities, but also has unique requirements.

Finally, email me to introduce yourself and get information about the opportunites available right now. I will want a lot of specific information from you in that contact email-- examples of good contact emails can be found here.

I look forward to hearing from you!
